Installer 4 beta 6

In case you haven`t seen it. A new beta of the Installer has been released:

Changes:

- Search function. But an advanced one. It can search not only the packages in the repos you’ve added, but also through RipDev server, when necessary.

- uninstalling work better now

-fixed a bug, where several copies of a package could appear in a folder

- the installer became more stable and the Springboard (the desktop) updates faster

Video recorder for iPhone

2 new video recorders has been released for jailbroken iPhones. I have tried video recorder from iSpazio.net. This is a paid version.  The other one is cycorder from Saurik.

I have tried both and my favourite so far is the free cycorder. It is supported by advertisements. Its only limitations is that it can`t record sound, but the video quality is better. It is expected that audio recording will be done within the week and may be sold as a premium feature.

Both appliactions can be downloaded from Cydia.

iPhone firmware 2.0.2 – backup fixed?

Apple has yet again released a new iPhone firmware: 2.0.2. The new firmware is supposed to fix some bugs. If you have a jailbroken phone you should wait for a new pwn tool to be released from one of these:

Kill Switch neutor button from BossPrefs

BossPrefs was updated today to v. 2.12b:

Changelog:

• Added Killswitch neuter button. This allows you to neuter apple’s app kill switch.
• Fixed bug with custom services that would prevent some from being detected running.
• Calling bundles by name to help in theming the dock icons. However, for whatever reason, the theming still is not working.
